Clinical safety first
Our Therapist Standards
Every therapist on MySafeTherapy is registered with a UK governing body — BACP, UKCP or HCPC — and verified by our clinical team. We check accreditation, identity, DBS status, professional insurance, and ongoing clinical supervision before any therapist sees a client.

BACP, UKCP or HCPC registration
Every therapist is current with their professional body, which means they are accountable to a binding code of ethics.
Identity & DBS verification
We verify identity documents and DBS status before any therapist is onboarded.
Professional indemnity insurance
All therapists hold up-to-date professional indemnity insurance.
Ongoing clinical supervision
Therapists must evidence regular supervision in line with their governing body's standards.
Specialism review
Our clinical team reviews specialism claims (e.g. trauma, eating disorders) against training and experience.
Continuous monitoring
We review feedback, complaints and incidents in line with our safeguarding policy.
How it works
- 1
Application & screening
Therapists apply with proof of training, accreditation, insurance and DBS.
- 2
Verification
We verify directly with BACP / UKCP / HCPC and validate insurance documents.
- 3
Clinical interview
Our team conducts a clinical interview covering modality, ethics and safeguarding.
- 4
Onboarding & supervision evidence
Therapists complete platform onboarding and provide ongoing supervision evidence.
- 5
Continuous review
Performance, client feedback and complaints are monitored throughout their time on the platform.
Safety & limitations
Accreditation reduces but does not eliminate risk. If you have any concern about a therapist's conduct, contact safeguarding@mysafetherapy.com — we take every concern seriously and follow our published Safeguarding Policy.
If you are in immediate danger, call 999. For urgent emotional support call Samaritans on 116 123 or text SHOUT to 85258. See our safety guidance and UK crisis resources.
