Therapeutic Journaling in 5 Minutes a Day: Beating the Blank Page

    Why journaling helps

Writing about feelings can reduce stress and help you make sense of what is going on. It moves thoughts out of your head and onto the page, where they feel more manageable.

    Why most people stop

The blank page. "What do I even write?" is the most common reason people give up. Prompts take that pressure away.

How it works in MySafe Wellbeing

    • A gentle prompt to start, like "If your current mood had a colour and texture, what would it be?" Tap "Something else" for a new one.
    • Write freely in a private space.
    • Talk it through with Navi, an AI journaling companion who reflects back what you shared and asks a kind follow-up question.

Navi is a reflection tool. It does not diagnose or make clinical decisions, and it is not a therapist. Learn more on our AI journaling page.

    Make it a habit

Five minutes is enough. Over weeks your entries show patterns you may not notice day to day, which is especially useful if you are also in therapy.

    A note on safety

These tools are for reflection and self-help. They are not a diagnosis, a replacement for therapy or crisis support. If you are in immediate danger, call 999 or Samaritans on 116 123.
